Pirate RP

I'm outlining a brief story arc I'd like to do for my "sub-guild" of <Imperial Ministry of War>, the Imperial Naval Intelligence Department. While folks are hungry for a return to traditional Republic vs. Empire RP, I'd like to take advantage of the game's current lore, specifically the ongoing resource crisis, as a sort of final story to transition at least myself and my "sub-guild" from the Zakuul/Alliance story to the upcoming traditional Pub v. Imp war story.

What I'd like to do in this thread is gauge interest in a brief pirate-centric story arc, as well as develop a better understanding of this server's population of pirate-interested RPers?

Do you RP a pirate?

Are there any serious pirate RP guilds on the server?

Do you RP other characters that regularly interact with pirates that might be interested in this arc?

What styles of RP would you employ to participate in an arc like this (e.g., in-game ad hoc RP, social RP, scheduled in-game events, forum short-story writing, etc.)?

Let me know. Once I have a better idea of who RPs pirates here and who would be interested in a pirate arc, I'll share more details of the upcoming arc.

IMPERIAL

CharacterRP PlaystylesNotes
Cdre. Edyard Dromoor- In-game ad hoc
- events
- forum short stories
Second in command of the Imperial Naval Intelligence Department. Among I.N.I.D.'s responsibilities are monitoring and reacting to pirate threats to Imperial Navy interests. In a story arc like this, Cdre. Dromoor will have a large hand in overseeing the Imperial response to pirate attacks on Imperial holdings.
Cpt. Rycklin Dromoor- In-game ad hoc
- events
- forum short stories
Commander of a company of Imperial marines attached to I.N.I.D. Cpt. Dromoor could be tasked with leading assaults against pirate holdouts.

Hey, its me, ya boi, the space pirate. I rp Vinzago, commander of the killer queen pirate fleet. I got 13 or so players who also rp pirates and I know plenty of other underworld folks usually down for pirate things. Hit me up!

Do you RP a pirate?

While I have a pirate character, I RP her very rarely, if at all. Partly because I more frequently find hooks better suited to my other characters' niches, and partly because my pirate is a Chiss and I usually prefer to leave the Chiss pirate shenanigans to my good friend Vinzago (though I'm not adverse to giving my own Chiss pirate more time in the spotlight if it works for the situation).

To the best of my knowledge, not currently. I've seen a fair few more freelancer bands, mercenary companies, and Mandalorian clans than flat-out pirate guilds, with the only piracy-affiliated guild I remember seeing in my year or so on Star Forge having moved on to other things.

Do you RP other characters who regularly interact with pirates that might be interested in this arc?

It depends on the type of interaction and how I feel after getting more details of the event, but the two I most prominently play have had some notable interactions with pirates. Eksa, my bar-hopping rogue Jedi, has opposed multiple pirates in his vigilante and bounty-hunting efforts; Ca'vorr Bendak, my Mandalorian, is currently the guildmate and co-worker of the aforementioned Vinzago in the Paragons' Covenant's freelancer division. I could theoretically play at least one character on both sides of a conflict, though my willingness to be an antagonist in another's story honestly takes a bit of a hit if I'm not familiar with and trusting of that person OOCly.

What styles of RP would you employ to participate in an arc like this?

If I decide to be involved, my method of participation would vary depending on what I see and how I feel about it. While I enjoy the occasional social RP (in-game or over Discord) and in-game event, I'm particularly fond of crafting forum short-stories.

I am interested in seeing where this goes, so best of luck in your endeavor!

I also have a pirate by the name of Andross Huxley, originally a captain of a small pirate crew, and a merchant, he has now joined the fleet of Vinzago, who has been earlier mentioned, aswell as posting a response himself. And, I'd love to get more roleplay for Andross, especially some sort of large-scale ship battle event.

...Sort of.
Tre'kinna is a Chiss who wears the Rishi Tricorn, a flowing cape, and other outfits that make her appear as a pirate. She occasionally even sports a flutterplume. She will fervently deny being a pirate, however.

She will admit to being any of the following:
Someone who connects parties who have a mutual supply and demand--for either a cut, or agreement to a favor
Someone who dabbles in real estate across a diverse range of planets, using some of her returns to invest in a small line of casinos where business and pleasure may be entertained
Someone who has had an extensive history in slaving, and is not opposed to conducting a slaving operation if needed
Someone who has experience is acquiring artifacts and relics of interest to Sith contractors
Someone who has experiences and affiliation as a bounty hunter
Someone who relaxes by fixing or rebuilding (even scrapping) speeders and ships

Underworld Elysium on Imperial side is heavy into the pirating, mercenary, smuggling, genre. It's an excellent guild, with events happening every Wednesday at 9pm EST.

Do you RP other characters who regularly interact with pirates that might be of interest in this arc?

Most of my personal alts are connected, but Tre'kinna is probably the most appropriate when it comes to my pirate-ish RP.

I usually prefer ad-hoc RP or social RP during events. I do some forum based RP, but only on my guild's web page due to demands of time in my RL.
