Well, if you are reading this, ya are probably wondering what the GFC is all about. Well, what you will not get is a recruitment message that will blow smoke up your ass to get ya to join. In fact, it may turn ya away. The reason for that is because we are not a guild of bold talking, with OP characters and stories about our characters that are the galaxies greatest bounty hunter, but also engineer, doctor and slicing expert…
Hmm, must mean that you find that type of RP as disgusting as we do. I reckon ya better keep on readin’ then.
The GFC has been a guild of men and women that see what we CAN do, not what we COULD do. We’ve kept ourselves free and open enough that we are able to adapt our guild focus in response to the game’s constant changes and such with relative ease. With the Knights of the Fallen Empire we were able to adapt yet again into a role that gained ourselves allies by the dozens in that the GFC IC’ly and to SOME OTHERS…OOC’ly wrote the book on bein’ the guerrilla warfare guild in SWTOR. *grins* Hey, we’ve been consistently doin’ that since 2011.
Then recently something changed…something dramatic.
As the guild leader who has always tried to make, keep and have friendly contact with many guilds over the years I moved an alt of mine that hasn’t really been used since…2011 to a VERY Heavy RP-Only guild. In my interactions with that guild I was able to see something that as a PvP’er and PvE’er but also as an RP’er, I’ve never seen or realized before. I will be VERY blunt in saying while we HAVE garnered a reputation for…bein’ in-your-face in that we don’t run away, we throw down as we’ve always thrown down.
I then took a look at the Galactic Fifth Column…as an outsider looking at it. I spoke with guild members and guild leaders of OTHER guilds to ask them directly: “What are the largest problems your guild faces on Open World events such as Rakghoul and Gree events? What about Conquest?”
I sought REAL answers, spoken truthfully, bluntly and from the heart.
The answers I sought…I got. It was pretty resounding, it was pretty blunt and it was VERY emotional from some of the guild members and leaders I spoke to. They answered with conviction. I could damn near feel it through speaking with them, with typing with them. Here is an exact quote from a friend of mine in another guild:
“The problem with our server in general is that a lot of pvpers have come here because we're so populated. The truth is that they also like to harass the RPers.”
I then asked myself: “What will you do about it? What CAN you do about it? Will you stand by and allow the vast majority of guilds and players on this server to…live their in-game lives like this? Will you?”
Well, I knew that I wouldn’t, but I also realized that: I could not possibly accomplish this by myself. Doing the majority of Admin work with the Column, I’ve been able to do for a very long time by myself. However, this is completely different. I knew that I needed help. I needed support…I needed a team of dedicated people to NOT help me, but literally OWN sections of the guild.
I spoke to the guild members, talked to them about what I’ve seen/heard over recent weeks. I told them about my intentions, my desires…my goal. I asked them first OOC’ly, then IC’ly because both are separate in all respects. I wanted to hear that what I wanted to do was impossible. What my desires were…were silly, foolish…and nothing but a pipe dream.
Hey, no one guild can make a difference to an entire server…right?
I mean, our guild motto has been: “We Dare to Defy.” They are just words, like most mottos are…right?
Well, they didn’t talk me out of it. The entire guild supported it and as such we’ve not only changed the entire IC and OOC focus of the GFC…we’ve also made massive structural changes to the GFC as well.
It also was clear to me that I would NEED to let go of many things that I normally do as guild leader.
Imagine that…a guild leader who willingly removes power/control for the greater good?
With me, the guild comes first...it is above me, it is NOT me. I am a guild member first and foremost just as every other member of the GFC is.
What we have created with the refocused GFC that has drawn it’s line in the sand for the Ebon Hawk server are the following 3 Branches:
GFC Rangers. **HEAVY-PvP-RP**
They are our PvP arm of the guild. Simply put, they are the offensive weapon of the GFC. They are the ones that will be strongly and decisively deployed during World Events on general patrol and to ANY guild/group/player that requests, will be close to them to ensure their success and safe passage. They WILL be flagged 24/7 and their direct orders are simple: “If it is Red, it is dead.” The Rangers will also be hosting the GFC Battle Circles which will be Public RP events at the GFC Stronghold.
F.I.R.A.X.A. **HEAVY-RP MINIMAL-PvP**
Facilitative Intelligence for Recruitment, Anonymity, Xenoanalysis & Assassination
FIRAXA is our Intel Branch, that is responsible for initiating 95% of new guild members IC’ly. They are also responsible for attending Public Server RP events and ensuring that the GFC is properly represented. Along with actual scouting OOC’ly and possibly IC’ly as well of any areas in which the Rangers are leading the groups/guilds they are escorting safely to bring them safely to Commanders for Conquest. Through the Gree and Rakghoul events respectively.
Support Division. **HEAVY-RP**
The Support Division is responsible for the health and well-being of GFC personal including slaves, as well as making sure that all GFC troops and assets are well-equipped and well supplied with the latest tech and gear upgrades developed or acquired by the GFC's science and technology specialists. Support Division is also charged with rehabilitation of slaves that the GFC takes in from field operations. Support Division is also responsible for getting the GFC Titan off the planet surface by repairing it. If the Titan is unable to lift off, then to work with F.I.R.A.X.A. to locate, acquire then retrofit the new capitol ship of the GFC.

Hmm...let's see if this will shake you from applying to the GFC...
We are NOT the guild for you if:
You take personal pleasure in bullying other players.
You have a negative mindset.
You are a try-hard/elitest/I.K.E. IKE= I Know Everything.
You see yourself as a special snowflake.
You are a Lore Nazi/try to use Wookiepeedia to put yourself above others IC’ly and/or OOC’ly speaking.
You are overly sensitive and live your life in a politically correct sense.
You are NOT respectful to RP.
Still Initerested? Well, in that case...ask yourself these questions, then honestly answer them:
We ARE the guild for you if:
You take personal pleasure in gankin’ the gankers and poundin’ the shit outta bullies who like to steamroll the players who simply do NOT PvP.
You have a positive mindset and desire to help others in your guild.
You look to what you can learn and accomplish.
You play Star Wars because it is a GAME. Your ego and your character’s ego concerning your stats and RP-victories AND defeats are part of what makes your character unique.
**For PvP-Only people:** You are NOT an RP’er, but instead a PvP’er who understands and is respectful OF the RP-Focus of the guild.
You look at ALL commentary by your guild members as what it is…humor.
You resolve to handle any OOC/IC issue first with the person/s you have the issue with and resolve to come to the GL as a last resort, than a first resort. In other words, "Don't come cryin' to dad cause so and so took your toy truck. Sort it out with em first.
And most importantly our most hallowed and simple guild rule is: Always follow Wheaton's Law: "Don't be a dick."
In GFC, our currency is respect. Be there for your guild-mates, and they will be there for you.
Still sound good?
Well shit...Swing on over to: GFC Website Fill out an application and I certainly hope that you can call the GFC, "Your Home."
